Here We Go

I didn’t really want to start a blog. In fact, the idea straight up annoyed me.

It’s not the writing part. I love to write. I mean, I named my blog “VT Story Writer” after all. What I don’t like is the idea of presuming others will want to read what I have to write. And the idea of marketing and maintaining my blog, and the upkeep involved? Daunting. I just want to write. I don’t want to manage my writing.

But here I am.

I’m going to become a blogger. Why? Because when it is all said and done, I do want people to read my writing, and to do that I need to release it into the wild. Yikes.

So here it is. My first blog post. If you have read this far and you are not my mother or my husband or my best friend, I thank you.

Here is what I expect to write about on this blog:

1. Stories. That is the goal after all. I spend most of my writing time on novels, but I will write some short stories and children’s stories on the side.

2. Writing. What I do when I’m writing, things I learn while writing, mistakes I make, advice, and occasionally, but hopefully not too often, my complaints about writing.

3. Other people’s writing, art, dance, music, and other creative projects.

4. My life. I can’t promise that it will be exciting. I’m a writer and an introvert. But I’m also a mother, a wife, an outdoor enthusiast, a dancer, a student, and a creator.

Thanks for sticking around to the end. Time to get writing!
